A class of substituted spirodienes of formula (I), wherein A is selected from (a), (b), (c) and (d); wherein each of R?1 to R10¿ is independently selected from hydrido, halo, alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, cyano, haloalkyl, hydroxyalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, hydroxyl, mercapto, alkylsulphonyl, haloalkylsulphonyl and sulphamyl; and wherein n is a number selected from 0, 1, 2 and 3; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; is described which selectively inhibit cyclooxygenase II and are useful in treating inflammation and inflammation-related disorders. |
