abstract In a process for embedding a sample in an embedding mass, the sample is arranged in a mould or in a container (7), is at first dried and then embedded in the embedding mass. In the process disclosed, the sample and the container (7) are set into a vessel (17), the sample is dried by heating by means of a microwave heating apparatus (2) located in the heating chamber (4), the embedding mass is introduced into the container (7) inside the vessel (17) and the sample is embedded.
