Urine analyzing unit of type mounted on closet |
abstract |
A urine analyzing unit (14) of the type mounted on a closet can be readily mounted to a standard type water closet (12) so as to sample and analyze urine in a toilet. The unit (14) comprises a substantially self-contained housing (22) which is mounted to the upper surface of the standard type water closet (12) between a bowl (16) and a flush water supply section (18). Pivotally mounted to the housing (22) is a seat (24), and mounted to the seat (24) is a urine sampling device (26), by which urine excreted into the bowl (16) is sampled in the air within a space of the bowl. Received in the housing (22) are a urine analyzing unit (50) provided with a polarograph flow cell and a syringe pump (52) for transferring a urine sample to the flow cell together with a carrier liquid. The polarograph flow cell has an active electrode which carries enzyme. In one embodiment, a tank for the carrier liquid is received in the housing (22). In another embodiment, a tank (402) for the carrier liquid is mounted to a closet cover. Also, a method of reconstructing a toilet provided with a standard type closet (12) into a toilet having a urine analyzing function is provided, and a prefabricated type seat assembly (28) having the urine sampling device (26) incorporated beforehand into the seat (24) is used. |
