A method and composition for inhibiting the spread of a retrovirus such as HIV of a human cell population in which the retrovirus such as HIV is present has been found. The spread of the retrovirus is inhibited by treatment of the cells with a synergistic combination mixture of a dideoxy-ribonucleoside excluding AZT and hydroxycarbamide. |
