abstract |
Synthetic peptide analogs of human factor XI are provided which are conformationally restricted by means of intramolecular bonding. The peptides compete with native factor XI or factor XIa for binding to platelets, and thereby inhibit the factor XIa-induced activation of factor IX on the surface of platelets. The peptides are designed by means of an equilibrium conformational model of the factor XI heavy chain. |
