abstract Cosmetic compositions and dispersions containing the same comprise (a) a solid particulate, water-insoluble matrix made of at least one water-insoluble, non-polymer, matrix-forming material solid at room temperature and (b) a water-insoluble, cosmetically active ingredient enveloped by the matrix. The matrix particles have an average size of about 1 νm or less. Also disclosed is a process for preparing such cosmetic compositions and dispersions and their use.
