Mutations in the human TDO2 gene have been identified and correlated with Tourette syndrome and Tourette syndrome related disorders. Disclosed is a method for diagnosing Tourette syndrome and Tourette syndrome related disorders which includes obtaining a physiological specimen from a patient and determining whether or not a mutation in the TDO2 gene is present. |
