abstract The use of a polymer containing conjugally cross-linked chromophore segments, the emission properties of which are determined by those of the individual chromophore segments, in electro-optical switching and indicating devices. Electroluminescent devices containing the polymers of the invention also exhibit high colour purity. Blue and white electroluminescence, in particular, can also be obtained with the polymers used in the invention.
