abstract |
The present invention relates to an effervescent oral care composition with improved sensory properties. The composition comprises a first composition with alkalimetal bicarbonate and a second composition with an acidic compound. Upon bringing the two compositions into contact with each other, e.g. by extruding them from a multicompartment container through a single outlet orifice, the alkalimetal bicarbonate and the acidic compound react with each other, causing an effervescent effect. By using 2.5-10 % by weight of the alkalimetal bicarbonate, the sensory properties of the composition are significantly improved, while maintaining the same degree of effervescence as compared to similar systems with 15 % or more alkalimetal bicarbonate. |
