titleOfInvention Process for reducing the volume of halogenated organic compounds in aqueous systems
abstract The invention pertains to a process for reducing the volume of halogenated organic compounds (AOX) in aqueous systems by means of reduction with hydrogen in the presence of a metal ion catalyst, wherein i) the oxidation number of the metal of the metal ion catalyst is other than 0 and the reduction is carried out ii) at a pH value in the range of 7 to 14 and iii) with a catalyst concentration of 0.001 to 5 % by wt. relative to the entire aqueous system.
