Microorganisms for the production of tryptophan and a process for producing the same are disclosed. These microorganisms are characterised by a deregulated tryptophan metabolism and by a feedback-resistant serA-allele deregulated serine metabolism. When the disclosed strains were fermented, it has been surprisingly shown that the strains with the highest tryptophan yield are those which contain a feedback-resistant serA-allele with a Ki value for serine from 100 νM to 50 mM and a deregulated tryptophan metabolism having a trpE-allele with a Ki value for tryptophan from 0.1 mM to 20 mM. |
