titleOfInvention Air bag of high bursting strength
abstract An air bag of high bursting strength characterized in that it consists of bottom and top cloths of substantially circular fabrics, the portion of the bottom cloth which is around an inflator fitting hole being reinforced with an apron of a fabric sewn thereon, the outermost circumferential seam of the apron having a quadrilateral shape, i.e. a substantially square shape, a rhombic shape or a rectangular shape, preferably a square shape the center of which is in agreement with that of the inflator fitting hole, this outermost seam satisfying the following requirements: (1) both the rectilinear distances Da, Db between one apex of the quadrilateral seam and two apexes adjacent to the above mentioned apex are within 0.6-0.9 times as large as the diameter Dw of a circle in which at least one pair of opposite apexes which constitute the largest diagonal of the same quadrilateral seam are inscribed and of which center is in agreement with that of the inflator fitting hole, and (2) both Da and Db are not more than 0.5 times as large as the diameter De of the circular bottom cloth.
