Improved mixture of nutrients for the bioremediation of polluted soils and waters |
abstract |
A nutrient concentrate stimulates and aids the growth of microorganisms which consume hydrocarbon compounds, in an accelerated culture used to biologically degrade organic compounds. The nutrient concentrate contains water-soluble and/or oil-soluble compounds of phosphorus (P) and nitrogen (N) mixed with further water-soluble and/or oil-soluble organic components having at least partially a nutrient character for the growth of microorganisms. To ensure that the nutrient concentrate favours pollution-degrading microorganisms and introduces no toxic substances in the soil to be decontaminated, the nutrient concentrate is a liquid, water-based composition and contains an ester of phosphoric acid as emulsifier and P-source, as well as a water-soluble or water-dispersible N-source. |
