abstract An astaxanthin-containing animal plankton which can be obtained by culture, such as Brachionus plicatilis; a method of culturing an animal plankton in a medium containing astaxanthin; and a method of feeding fry or larva with an astaxanthin-containing animal plankton. The feeding with this plankton remarkably enhances the survival rate of fry and larva as compared with the prior-art method.
