abstract |
A process is disclosed for lacquering electroconductive substrates by means of electro-dipcoats that can be cathodically deposited. The electro-dipcoats used contain crosslinked polymer microparticles that can be prepared by reacting (A) a compound that in average contains more than 1.0 epoxide groups per molecule or a mixture of such compounds with (B) a compound that contains in its molecule both a group capable of reacting with epoxide groups and at least one ketimine or aldimine group, or a mixture of such compounds, so that a non-crosslinked intermediate product (C) is obtained that contains in average at least one further epoxide group per molecule. This intermediate product is then dispersed in an aqueous medium in the presence of a Brönsted acid. |
