titleOfInvention Carcinostatic
abstract A carcinostatic containing a carbostyril derivative, represented by general formula (1), and/or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and a cytokine and/or a retinoid as active ingredients, and a cancer therapy by administering the carcinostatic to patients. In the formula (1), R represents benzoyl optionally having 1 to 3 groups selected among lower alkoxy and lower alkyl groups on the benzene ring, and the carbon-to-carbon bond between the 3- and 4-positions of the carbostyril skeleton represents either a single or a double bond. The carcinostatic has an excellent carcinostatic effect based on the effects of inhibiting tumor growth and promoting cell differenciation.
