abstract A miniaturized sensor element for determining the concentrations of substances in liquids has a membrane substrate (1) designed as a capillary body the capillaries of which form a membrane by polymerization or once the solvent of a solution in which the capillary body is imbibed has evaporated. An electric derivation is mechanically linked to or integrated into the membrane substrate and contacts the membrane. The membrane substrate (1) may for example be made of normal filter paper, other kinds of paper or microfiber fabrics.
