abstract | A base plate for a liquid jet recording head, which is provided with electrothermal converters each having a resistor for generating heat and a pair of wirings electrically connected to the resistor, is made of a polycrystalline substance such as polycrystalline silicon. By utilizing such a base plate, the recording head which is capable of printing high-quality images and which is free from warp and bend, can be fabricated at a low cost. Also, by this recording head, a recording apparatus capable of printing images of a high quality at a high speed can be provided. In a method of manufacturing the base plate, even though the surface of the polycrystalline base plate is oxidized by heating, the surface is flat. |
