abstract The present invention provides an antiseptic cleansing composition comprising an alkanol and an aqueous concentrate of a surfactant. The compositions may also comprise a biocide. The present invention further provides a method for cleansing skin comprising applying the composition of this invention onto the skin allowing the alkanol in the composition on the skin to evaporate whereby the skin is substantially dry, applying a small amount of water to the substantially dry skin, washing the skin under foam generation and finally rinsing the skin.
