A herbicide containing a novel pyrimidine or triazine derivative represented by general formula (I) or a salt thereof as the active ingredient, wherein R?1 represents trifluoromethanesulfonyloxy etc.; R?2 represents hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower alkenyl, lower alkynyl, etc.; R?3 and R?4 may be the same or different from each other and each represents halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, difluoromethoxy, etc.; and Z represents nitrogen or methine. The above derivative has an excellent herbicidal effect on harmful weeds growing on lowland and upland fields and noncrop lands. |
