abstract To obtain submicron particles of, for example, pigments in the presence of lipid vesicles of lamellar structure from at least one precursor of said particles, a vesicle dispersion is prepared from at least one lipid capable of forming the vesicle walls and from an aqueous phase E to be encapsulated in said vesicles, and optionally an aqueous phase D to form a dispersion medium for said vesicles, at least one precursor of said particles being solubilized in the phase E and/or D before and/or during and/or after preparation of the vesicle phase, at least one agent capable of converting the said precursor(s) into the desired particles being made to act on said precursor(s) following their introduction into the preparation medium.
