abstract The process for bleaching of dyed textiles comprises treatment with a bleach liquor containing (1) H2O2 or a precursor for H2O2 and an enzyme exhibiting peroxidase activity or (2) O2 and an enzyme exhibiting a suitable oxidase activity. The process is advantageous from an environmental point of view, only a relatively low concentration of H2O2 is necessary, and it is not necessary to use high pH values in order to achieve a satisfactory bleaching effect.
