A novel process for producing amino carboxylic acid salts useful as the starting material of agricultural chemicals and medicines, chelating agents, food additives, etc., which comprises oxidatively dehydrogenating amino alcohol in the presence of alkali metal hydroxide and/or alkaline earth metal hydroxide, copper catalyst and water, wherein the reaction is conducted while maintaining the nickel concentration of the reaction solution below 40 ppm. |
