abstract |
A posterior chamber lens implant including a discoid lens (1) and a haptic element (2). Said discoid lens (1) comprises, on its rear surface near the periphery thereof, an annular groove (3) defined by two projecting concentric rings (4, 5) and sized and shaped to allow a circular portion (C1) of the distended posterior capsule (C) to fit into said groove on insertion into the capsular sac, as well as to form thereafter a circular suction element providing a suction effect on said posterior capsule when it becomes taut as a result of its gradual synechia with the anterior capsular flap. |
