This invention relates to a product containing a) glutamine or derivative or analogue thereof, b) short- or medium-chain fatty acid and c) a growth factor or analogue thereof for simultaneous, separate or sequential use having anabolic effects and useful for the treatment or prevention of malfunction or disease of the intestinal mucosa. The growth factor is GH, GRF, IGF-1 or IGF-2 and preferably IGF-1. The invention also relates to the use of GH, GRF, IGF-1 or IGF-2 for the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment or prevention of malfunction or disease of the intestinal mucosa. |
