titleOfInvention Arm with translatable end and apparatus for therapeutic treatment, comprising application thereof
abstract A device for positioning inside an instrument (12) comprises at least one essentially rigid arm (14) with a first end (14a) and a second end (14b). The first end (14a) is articulated on a supporting frame (16) by means of at least one axis of articulation (18, 20). The instrument (12) is mounted on a supporting element (22) connected to the second end (14b) of the arm (14) by at least one axis of articulation (24). The device is characterized in that said instrument comprises an exploratory probe (12) and said supporting element (22) of the instrument (12) comprises a translation device (26) for effecting a translation of the instrument (12) comprising the exploratory probe (12) in relation to the second end (14b) of the arm (14) for carrying out an exploration in each of the translation positions. The invention makes it possible to effect a translational movement of the instrument at the end of a positioning device, thus offering maximum freedom and positioning inside an instrument as well as ease of detection, in particular during endorectal echography, which is particularly useful for therapeutic treatment of the prostate.
