abstract The present invention relates to macrocyclic chelates and methods of use thereof. Specifically, the invention relates to a substituted 1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane triacetic acid wherein the three triacetic acids are linked at three of the nitrogens of the macrocycle, and a hydrogen is attached to the fourth nitrogen of the macrocycle. The chelate exists as a mixture of the four possible structures (or isomers). The present invention also relates to the various uses of these particular chelating agents.
