abstract | A methacrylic resin molding material comprising a copolymer composed of 80 to 99.5 wt. % of methyl methacrylate units and 20 to 0.5 wt % of the units of at least one acrylate monomer selected from the group consisting of 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl acrylate, cyclohexyl acrylate, phenyl acrylate, benzyl acrylate, isobornyl acrylate and tricyclo[5.2.1.02,6]decanyl acrylate. It can be used advantageously as an excellent molding material for producing an optical information recording medium, because it has excellent heat resistance and good fluidity while retaining excellent optical and mechanical characteristics inherent in methacrylic resins, so that it can enhance the productivity in molding. |
