abstract The invention relates to a package blank, comprising an assembly formed by a sealed, airtight and resilient film or a like serving as wrapping material (1) and by substantially deformable inner material (2) consisting of particles. A package blank (1, 2) can be accompanied by an article (E). A film or a like surface serving as wrapping material (1) is provided with a stiffening plate (9) or a like element which, during a package-forming operation, is adapted to receive a piercing means (10) which, during the course of depressurization, is adapted to penetrate through said film or a like serving as wrapping material (1) as well as through stiffening plate (9) or a like element for establishing a communication between a wrapping-material confined space and a vacuum-creating mechanism. The invention relates also to a method for producing a package and to a method for manufacturing a package blank.
