Methods for optimizing the viability of human peripheral blood neutrophils in culture and methods for priming neutrophils to exhibit augmented FMLP-stimulated superoxide production without spontaneous superoxide generation are described. Fibroblast-conditioned media and methods for producing same are described as well. Also described is a method for assaying the ability of a compound to enhance the viability of human neutrophils. |
