abstract In a process for making a moisture sensor, especially a capacitive damp sensor with a polyimide as the moisture-sensitive layer (4), the polyimide (4), dissolved in the fully imidised state in a polar solvent, is applied to an insulating substrate having at least one connection or earth electrode (2, 3), whereupon the solvent is removed. A moisture-permeable cover electrode (5) is preferably applied for capacitive moisture sensors.
