abstract An apparatus is disclosed for the pressurization and depressurization of fluid. A preferred embodiment of the apparatus comprises a cylindrical vessel (40), five cycloidal slabs (41a, 41e) within the vessel, four rotational disks (43a-43d) and eight vane assemblies (one vane assembly shown; 51a-51d). The vanes are rotated and occilated in the vessel (40) by the cams (42a-42d). The cams (42a-42d) provide the vanes with smooth motion as they move between the rotating disks (43a-43d) and the five cycloidal slabs (41a-41e). The apparatus has use in the following fields: power production using low grade heat; freeze dryings and any solid-liquid vapor multiple transformation process.
