Optical disk and method of manufacturing the same |
abstract |
The invention relates to a structure of optical disks obtained by sticking together two pieces of substrates using an adhesive composed of a thermosetting resin and an ultraviolet ray curing resin and to a method of manufacturing the same. A ceramic film is provided on the inner and outer peripheries of each substrate to transmit ultraviolet rays to the adhesive, but neither the recording film nor the reflecting film is provided. By irradiating ultraviolet rays in the bonding process, the ultraviolet ray curing resin on the inner periphery and outer periphery of the substrate is cured, so that the substrates are stuck together temporarily. The optical disk thus made is heated to cure the thermosetting resin. Accordingly, the two pieces of substrates are completely bonded together. By virtue of the temporary bonding with the ultraviolet ray curing resin, it is allowed to vertically place the substrates in the thermosetting process without deforming the substrates and without permitting the adhesive to flow. Because of the provision of the ceramic films on the inner and outer peripheries of the substrates, the adhesive strength is raised, and the improved reliability is maintained over long periods of time. |
