titleOfInvention | Paste-like preparation for performance testing and/or cleaning of amperometric sensors |
abstract | A paste-like preparation has a pH in the range of 10 to 12 and contains the following constituents: a) at least one reducing agent; b) at least one thickening agent; c) at least one abrasive material in powder form; and a dye as redox indicator. The paste-like preparation can be used for rapid, simple performance testing of a membrane-covered amperometric sensor, e.g. an O2 sensor, as well as to clean the membrane (6) and the electrodes (14, 16) incorporated in the inner body (12) of the sensor without the use of apparatus, and yields highly reproducible results. The activity of the reducing agent can be monitored visually continuously by means of the dye, which acts as a redox indicator. |
