titleOfInvention Assay apparatus and use thereof
abstract An assay apparatus for use in the detection of an analyte suspected of being immobilised on an active surface portion of a solid substrate comprises a substrate housing means, a first reagent transfer means for transferring a reagent to the substrate surface, the reagent being selected to react with the analyte and emit a signal, and substrate wiping means arranged to wipe excess first reagent off the substrate. The apparatus preferably has sample transfer means, wiping means to remove excess sample, and second reagent transfer means, said second reagent being one which stimulates emission of a signal from the reaction product of the analyte and first reagent.
