abstract A container (1) has a rotor disk (23) that turns around a vertical axis (17) and delimits an overlying processing chamber (31). In order to agglomerate and/or coat particles, these are agitated by the turning of the rotor disk (23) and by a gas, in particular air, blown upwards through the processing chamber (31), and simultaneously sprayed with a liquid. The necessary torque for turning the rotor disk (23) is continuously measured by a torquemeter (75) arranged between the rotor disk (23) and its driving means (77). The agglomeration and/or coating process is controlled on the basis of the torque progression and/or its first differentiation in time and/or a value associated with the torque and/or its differentiation. Agglomerated and/or coated particles can thus be obtained having relatively precise predetermined properties, for example particle sizes within a predetermined range.
