abstract Endotoxin sorbent comprising a sorbent material selected from the group consisting of polymyxin B and salts, immobilised on a solid phase support, the solid phase-polymyxin B sorbent having been treated with an anticoagulant capable of preventing or limiting fibrin deposition, whereby free anticoagulant binding sites are blocked which may be used to remove endotoxin from endotoxin-containing fluids e.g. from blood in the treatment of gram-negative bacterial shock.
