abstract |
A flat multi-conductor power cable (11) which includes a plurality of generally parallel, spaced apart, flat conductors (12) which are surrounded by two layers of insulating material. An internal layer (13) is extruded around each of the flat conductors (12) and is intimately bonded to each conductor (12). A single external layer (14) is extruded around all of the internal layers (13) and is intimately joined to all of the internal layers (13). Preferably, the external layer (14) comprises a thermoplastic elastomer and the internal layer (13) comprises a polyolefinic ionomer. A method and apparatus for making such a flat multi-conductor power cable is also disclosed. |
