titleOfInvention Clinical analyses methods and systems
abstract Mixing technique particularly useful as part of the process for the clinical analyses of liquid biological samples. The sample is placed in a cuvette (24) along with a reagent (44) and a diluent (52). The top (opening) (117) of the cuvette (24) is squeezed (reduced in size) and an air jet (J) is directed against the liquid surface formed in the cuvette (24) adjacent the junction of the liquid surface with the wall of the cuvette (24) to create a vortex to produce thorough mixing of the contents of the cuvette (24) and substantially prevent any splashing of the liquid contents.
