titleOfInvention Plasmid and phage clones of human t-cell lymphotropic virus type iii
abstract Molecular clones of HTLV-III/LAV. Clones $g(l) HXB-2, $g(l) HXB-3, pHXB-2D, and pHXB-3D incorporate the full length integrated proviral nucleotide sequences of HTLV-III/LAV. The first two are inserted into $g(l) phage; the latter two contain the viral sequences in a plasmid vector and are cytopathic for T-cell cultures and infectious $i(in vitro).
