The self-locking stemmed component (1) for a joint endo-prosthesis consists of two lobes (4, 5) of which one (4) is designed for transfer of compression loads and the other (5) for transfer of tension loads. Both lobes (4, 5) are interconnected by a number of connecting structures (6), preferably in the form of struts, which produce an increase of the stem thickness upon loading of the stemmed component (1), thereby pressing the lobes (4, 5) against the inner cortex of the medullary canal (23) of a tubular bone (10). |
