abstract A process for apportioning fodder to at least one animal, in which a specific quantity of fodder is determined according to the relevant needs of the animal, the weight of the quantity of fodder is measured, and this quantity of fodder is apportioned to the animal. For this purpose, the fodder is fed from at least one fodder container (1) into at least one dosing disc (2). The quantity of fodder envisaged for the animal is dispensed over the edge of the dosing disc in the direction of the animal. The weight of the particular quantity dispensed is determined, and dispensing of the fodder is suspended when the required quantity of fodder has been reached.
