titleOfInvention Autotransfusion apparatus
abstract An autotransfusion apparatus for blood or other similar body liquids comprises a) a container (5) susceptible of being emptied and stable to an underpressure, comprising a lower part (4) and a top part (3), with a1) an inlet opening (20) for the body liquids, which is formed in the top part, a2) a discharge opening (24) for the body liquids, which is formed on the top part (3) and which is topped by a sieve (25) and a3) an opening (9) provided in the lower part (4) of the container in order to establish a gas flow connection with a cavity having a gas pressure different of that prevailing inside the container, b) a membrane (16) susceptible of being deformed by the pressure and impervious to body liquids. The membrane is fixed with a gas-tight relationship to the walls of the container (5), between the bottom part and the top part so as to divide the container (5) into a gas-filled lower cavity (13) and an upper cavity (19) which is tight with respect to the first cavity and intended to receive the body liquid. The autotransfusion apparatus enables to collect rapidly and functionally blood without the risk of damaging the blood and without any danger for the patient, particularly without the danger of causing an aeroembolism, and enables to retransfuse the blood into the patient, since c) the discharge opening (24) is sealable by a floating body.
