| abstract | System for determining when to stop further supply of irrigating fluid (12) to a colon or other intestinal tract, by monitoring peristolic stimulation through observation of fluctuations of low through the fluid supply conduit. The monitor consists of a transparent plastic cylinder (20) normally in a horizontal position in which in inspection ball (40) moves in the direction of flow. The ball has a specific gravity greater than the water it floats in. A level gauge (52) with a air bubble may be provided to indicate that the cylinder (30) is in a horizontal position. |
