abstract The device for checking the junction of two adjacent coating bands (1, 2) is comprised of a metallized tape (5) incorporated on the edge of at least one band and is susceptible of being destroyed upon assembling the bands, any undestroyed portion showing a junction defect. The tape is thermal fusible or chemically destroyable according to the mode of assembling the bands. The detection of the jointing is carried out with an ultrasonic detector or with a magnetic loss detector or a spark detector.
