abstract | A speaker apparatus employs what is called the "motional feedback" (MFB) technique in which sound waves from a speaker (2) are detected by a microphone (10) from which an output is fed back to a speaker-driving power amplifier (5) through a feedback amplifier (11), wherein the microphone (10) is disposed within a plane which is perpendicular to the radial axis of the speaker (2) and which substantially includes the acoustic center of the speaker (2), and wherein the output of the microphone (10) is fed back to the power amplifier (5) within a frequency range lower than the frequency at which the distance between the speaker (2) and the microphone (10) is a quarter wavelength. Thus it is possible to realize a speaker apparatus in which the reproduced sound is not affected by the microphone, and which has a high feedback upper-limit frequency and is little affected by Doppler effects. |
