abstract | A dental anchor (10, 42) for securing a superstructure (124) to a dental infrastructure (106), the dental anchor (10, 42) having a forwardly elongated anchor portion (12, 44) so insertable into a channel (118) extending into the dental infrastructure (106). An elongated coaxial retaining portion (24, 52) extends from the anchoring portion (12, 44) and has a non-circular cross-sectional configuration retaining displacement resistance properties thereby to retain the superstructure (124). ). A depth limiting part (16, 48, 72) is integrally disposed between the anchoring part (12, 44) and the retaining part (24, 52) to limit the insertion depth of the anchoring part (12, 44) in the channel (118). The depth limiting portion (16, 48, 72) has a frustoconical section (18, 78) which fits into a flared end bore (120) formed on the upper end of the channel (118) in the infrastructure tooth (106). A dental tool (84) forms a limited depth channel (118) along with a flared end bore (120) in the framework of the tooth (106), for use in combination with the anchor dental (10, 42). |
