abstract The product contains, apart from water, a saponin or a compound containing saponins or a saponin in active form. The latter compound can be an intermediate product for the preparation of commercial saponin extracts. The preparation of the following composition is particularly effective: 6 to 20 wt% of a saponin-based product with a saponin concentration of 20 to 30 wt% of pure saponin, 40 to 50 wt% of molasses, 1 to 6 wt% of a water soluble colloid, 0.7 to 6 wt% of a preservative, the remainder being water. The product is used in an aqueous dilution of 2 to 5 ppm.
