abstract | Synthetic polymers and a process for their preparation by a polyisocyanate polyaddition reaction. Synthetic polymers are obtained by the reaction of a polyisocyanate with a substantially equivalent amount of an oligomeric para-, metha- or di-meta-aminobenzoic acid amide or ester having the formula (FORMULA) where n is an integer of 2 a 4; x is equal to one or two, each benzoyl ring is para-, meta- or di-meta-amino-substituted; Z represents (FORMULA) and G is a radical of valence n which can be obtained by extraction of hydroxyl or amino groups from a polyamine or holigomeric polyole of valence n having a molecular weight of between 400 and 6000 approximately. Useful synthetic polymer products can be obtained in a simple and effective manner by reaction of the polyisocyanate and oligomeric aminobenzoic acid amide or ester reaction materials without the need for addition of polymerizers or chain extenders . |
