Provided are a silver-plated material having improved wear resistance compared to the past while maintaining a high hardness, and a method for manufacturing the silver-plated material. The present invention is a method for performing electroplating in a silver plating solution comprising an aqueous solution that contains potassium silver cyanide, potassium cyanide, and mercaptothiazole, and thereby forming a surface layer comprising silver on a material and manufacturing a silver plating material, wherein the silver plating solution has a mercaptothiazole concentration of 5 g/L or above, and electroplating is performed in the silver plating solution at a liquid temperature of 30°C or above and a current density of 1-15 AA/dm 2 . |
